The Department of Mathematics runs the TA Program to give support and guidance to its graduate students in teaching issues. This program is coordinated by the Graduate Director for Instructional Development, Sarah Glaz.


News and Events Fall 2008

  • First Week Activities
  • Math 5000: Mathematical Pedagogy (Section 1) is a mandatory course for all new graduate students who plan to teach in the 2008/2009 academic year. If you have a scheduling conflict, please, e-mail Sarah Glaz.
    • Section 1:  Mathematical Pedagogy, Monday 4:00 - 5:30, MSB 118
      Instructors: DeFranco, Glaz, and Vinsonhaler
    • Section 2: Computer Information, Tuesday 4:00 - 4:50, MSB 203
      Instructor: Marinelli
  • Classroom Observations: Starting the third week of classes, new TAs will be contacted to set up an appointment for a classroom observation and teaching consultation. Classroom observations and teaching consultations will be conducted by Glaz, Khamsemanan, and Spiegel.
